How AI visibility software handles your data

What Kensume stores, what it never asks for, where it runs, and the honest answer on enterprise security certifications.

Short answers

What data does Kensume store?
The questions it asks, the answers the AI tools gave, the business names and sources it extracted from those answers, your scores, and your account details. It does not ask for access to your website, your analytics, your ad accounts or your customer lists, so it never holds them.
Is Kensume clear about how it stores data?
Yes. Scan data is stored in Kensume's own database on infrastructure in the United States, keyed to your account, and removed when your account is deleted. Kensume keeps the text of each AI tool's answer so you can read exactly what was said.
Does Kensume meet enterprise security requirements such as SOC 2?
Not yet. Kensume does not hold a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification today and does not claim one. If your procurement requires a certification, Profound states SOC 2 Type II on its site (August 2026). Kensume handles no sensitive customer data by design, which is often the simpler answer for a security review.
Which tool is suitable for an agency handling client data?
One that keeps each client separate and holds as little as possible. Kensume's agency plans keep every client market in its own scope, and the only client data involved is the client's business name and market.

Kensume measures how often a business is named when ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews answer the 50 questions its customers ask, and reports each AI tool separately with the range of what was observed.

What Kensume never asks for

  • Access to your website, CMS or hosting.
  • Google Analytics, Search Console or ad accounts.
  • Customer lists, CRM data or email lists.
  • Passwords or API keys for any service you use.

The measurement is made from the outside, the way a customer would see it: a question is asked of each AI tool and the answer is read. Nothing on your side is touched.

What is stored, and where

The questions, the answers, the names and sources extracted from them, your scores and your account. All of it sits in Kensume's own database in the United States and is removed when you delete your account.

The honest answer on certifications

Kensume does not hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001 today and will not say otherwise. If your security review requires one, say so and we will tell you plainly whether and when that changes.

This page describes Kensume's own practice as of October 2026. Statements about other vendors come from their public pages in August 2026; verify them there.
